Every Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. Ragout holds Sunday Roast. The chef and host is Alexei Zimin.
Sunday Roast is a traditional Anglo-saxon family lunch with roast meat as its centrepiece (roast chicken or goose, a tasty joint of beef or pork, or a lamb leg)
This tradition has long since been adapted for a restaurant format in British gastropubs, cafes and bars. It’s also a great opportunity to combine the informality and good manners of restaurant surroundings with a family atmosphere and delicious home-cooked food which is simply hard to do in a public catering establishment on a regular basis. And that’s exactly why the Roast in Ragout is held on the laziest day of the week – Sunday – and is limited in time – from 1-4 p.m.
Besides the roast meat, which we often prepare using exclusive farm produce, during Sunday Roast we also serve light cocktails, such as the traditional British Pimms with lemonade, citrus fruits and cucumber
Says Alexei Zimin: “Of course, Sunday Roast isn`t just about having a meal – it`s also about communicating. We plan to hold it every Sunday and we`ll try to surprise our guests with something fresh and original. Besides, I’ll come round to meet every guest in person and to cook for them at the kitchen theatre. I`m happy to chat with anyone, all our guests are welcome to come over to me and I`ll demonstrate them the whole process of preparing the roast”.
